Why Do Parent Prefer Strider Balance Bikes Over Other Brands

Posted on January 23, 2012 by saurabh sahni

Every parent is fascinated when they look at their kid riding a bike for the very first time. That moment never comes back and I am sure parents want the best equipment for the initial ride. There are numerous balance bikes on the market that cater to different needs of toddlers. Among such bikes, one is the Strider balance bike.

Strider balance bikes faces tough competition with numerous other balance bikes with competing price points, features and accessories. But what makes Strider different, and what are various reasons why riding a strider balance bike may be the best for kids and toddlers.  One of the main reasons is the lightweight design of the Strider.  It caters to a young child's needs making the bike manageable to even the youngest children starting out at 12 months old.  No doubt, that is why more and more parents are preferring Strider balance bikes over others for their kids.

There are various other reasons as to why parents prefer the Strider brand. To talk about a few:

  1. the bike weighs only 6.9 pounds which is extremely light and perfect for someone who has just started to learn riding a balance bike.  The lightweight design makes it easier to carry back to home when kids, especially those who have just started learning, may not prefer to ride it. Compared to other balance bikes around, this one is among the lightest balance bikes available in the market.
  2. the bike is priced at just about $100 or so. Compare that price with other market brands and the quality of balance bikes, they'll find that this one is among the cheapest as well. Usually, any good balance bike would cost about $150-$200 easily. Thus, when such an efficient balance bike is available for almost half the price, who wouldn't prefer to buy other brands for their kids?
  3. Pedaling is taken out of the mix to ensure that kids can solely focus on learning balance.
  4. adjustable seat and handlebars makes it even more convenient for a child to ride it comfortably.  the Strider bike’s adjustable seat height starts at 11 inches from the ground, accommodating the shortest of legs.  The height is perfect for shorter kids who may be older in age but just have not gotten that growth spurt yet.
  5. Presence of launch pad footrests make it easy for child to glide and learn advanced skills of riding
  6. puncture proof and all-terrain tires complement balance bike learning well

Compare Strider bikes with others and you can easily see why parents rate this one as the best of class.  But not just the parents kids give these bikes very high marks also.  When introduced to a child you can't get them off of the bikes.  They are easy to ride, have smooth handling and adjustable for most kids between the ages of 1 to 5 years old. Every kid would want their first balance bike to be a light weight one, other factors may be counted later. Talk about a few competitive bikes in the same class and one would find that not only their price is almost double than that of the strider balance bike but no bike would be as light-weight as this one is. Thus, a strider balance bike is not only a preferable bike for kids but is also pocket-friendly for parents and these reasons make it the perfect choice to go for.

A Trikke Bikee Balance Bike Makes The Greatest Gift For Your Little Ones!

Posted on January 23, 2012 by saurabh sahni

Balance bikes make for one of the best presents for a young child, boy or girl, age roughly two years to five years. These bikes are bags of fun, simple to mount on and ride and make a wonderful play-mate for kids. Before buying one always confirm your child's inseam compared to the size of one trikke bikee balance bike. If you plan to purchase it for a little one, the seat must be low enough for children who are really small, the goal is to have the child's feet reach the floor flat generally with shoes on. While buying this bike for an older kid, the seat must be high enough so that they feel relaxed enough to shove the bike all along, other than being troubled with their knees brushing their ears!

A balance bike ride couldn't be simpler. In common experience kids take to it very effortlessly and swiftly and enjoy each minute of it. Nevertheless, to facilitate them as they begin, it's prudent to pursue some of the guidelines to keep the rider safe. A reasonably big and open, rather flat spot will be ideal like backyards, parks and playing fields. If you plan to make your kids practice on a runway you may want to think about dressing your child in shielding paraphernalia like knee and elbow pads, in order to keep your mind at peace. The trikke bikee balance bike is incredibly secure, mainly once the child masters riding it on a flat surface. Grass is fine to practice on, at first but, it is tougher to progress on later.

A balance bike is every so often called a run bike. It is a training bike which lends a hand to children teaching them equilibrium and navigation. The main premise of a balance bike is that it is without chains, pedals, training wheels and no crank set. It would be a standard bike with pedals, chains and correlated parts attached.  To a child all of these parts are distractions that deter from the learning process and hinder growth.  Other additional parts that are usually taken away are brakes which are standard on traditional bikes.  As stated the purpose of a balance bike it to teach balance and excessive parts on a bike can cause distractions. For kids, being perfect at the art of balance and pedaling simultaneously can be extremely annoying. The balance buddy bike enters and all the troubles are solved

Main Benefits of Balance Bikes:

  1. Kids are safe as they manage their individual actions
  2. Allows the kids to grow skills at their personal time and speed
  3. kids learn vital balancing, synchronization and navigation skills
  4. supports kids to go toward applicable bike-riding ability when they are comfortable with a traditional bike

There are numerous kinds of balance bikes out there.  Their are a number of well known brands on the market battling for market share.  I have found a number of people finding favor in the trikke bikee balance bike.  One key feature that a number of people have found very appealing is the integrated footrest.  Some of the lower priced brands don't have this feature.  The vibrant colors have also attracted a number of new buyers.  The colors are very appealing to young children and bring about a lot of attention from other parents.  Just a recap, find the right bike that fits your child's inseam.  Also, know what you want for your child.  Although, I don't recommend buying a balance bike with all the bells and whistles bike brakes, I do recommend buying one with a footrest.  It will pay off when your child masters the art of balance.  Instead of having there feet drag the ground they will have them resting on the footrest and concentrating on other things like enjoying the ride!

How to Choose Between a Wood and Metal Balance Bike

Posted on December 27, 2011 by saurabh sahni

The question of deciding whether to chose a metal balance bike or a wooden balance bike often
pops up when one goes out to purchase a balance bike for their child. This is obviously an important question, but completely depends on your own preference. However, when purchasing a new balance bike for your child, your number one aim would be to choose a bike which is not only safe, but through which, your child will be able to learn how to ride a bike in the shortest possible period. There are several merits and demerits of both kind of bikes, and the discussion below would definitely help you make the decision of whether to purchase a metal balance bike or a wooden balance bike.

Wood balance bikes are a preferred option for all those individuals who are very much environment conscious and would want to purchase something that could be easily disposed off and recycled without harming the environment. This is what is done to a wood bike once it has been fully utilized, and it can be properly dumped and returned back to the land after use, and the fact that it has no negative effects on the environment makes it a more popular choice amongst such people. However, the only parts that might not be recycled are the wheels and the rubber handles of your bike. The only parts which would therefore be left behind are the screws and the wood of your bike. This is the biggest merit of purchasing a balance bike made of wood. But at the same time, the biggest demerit of such a balance bike is that they do not have the seat adjustment option. Moreover, if you need to adjust the seat, you will not to pull out two screws, and than you will have to adjust the seat before you put the screws again. This can be quite a stressful task since you will need to do this process more than once again and again.

On the other hand, metal balance bikes have a much longer useful life and can survive the worst of the challenges as compared with their wood counterparts. They can easily accommodate the weight of your child without the performance being compromised, and will not be the body of your bike will not be affected at all even if your child ends up falling down while riding it. Moreover, you can easily adjust the seat on the bike, and some bikes contain the option of easily adjusting the seat by unbolting the clip and after you have adjusted the seat according to your requirement, you can always push the clip and tighten the grip again.

Therefore, going by the above discussion, metal balance bikes and wood balance bikes both have their share of merits and demerits, so choose one in accordance to your preference after taking into account all the points, including the ones mentioned above. Both have great performance and output, and your child would be learning how to ride a bike in no time.

A balance bike is the most sought after alternative when it comes to getting a bike for a toddler. These bikes are commonly referred to as walking bikes and they just aid in the improvement of the balance of a child. The Prince Lion heart bike is an excellent way to help toddlers in their endeavor to master the art of balancing. Working without any wheels, these balance bikes ensure that full focus and concentration is given to the balancing factor. The basic functionality include that of allowing the child to hold the handle bars and walk alongside, either in a straight manner or by swaying from one end to another. This all continues till they build their confidence and then they might move for a short distance without putting their feet on the ground.

The Prince Lion heart balance bike is made out of pure birch wood and has a brilliant look with its natural finish. This not only helps to prevent accidents, but also helps the child to keep control of his motion in a straight manner.

How To Clean And Lubricate A Bicycle Chain

Posted on December 2, 2011 by Kenny

It is important to learn how to clean and lubricate a chain. Maintenance is critical because durability and function are dependent on physical conditions. These useful pieces of equipment are generally produced for two purposes. One model is designed to transfer power, and is frequently used in machines. The other is capable of hoisting heavy loads, or temporarily securing items to permanent structures (such as chaining bicycles to street lights).

Roller chains are commonly used for agricultural, domestic, and industrial applications. They have the capacity to transmit mechanical power. These models are most effective in drives that are low and mid-speed, between 600 to 800 feet per minute. They are among the most essential components of bicycles, motorcycles, fork lifts, cars, farm equipment, chainsaws, printing presses, and conveyors.

This information will focus on cleaning roller chains used on bicycles. There are several effective methods which may be used. The traditional method involves removing the chains and soaking them in special solvents. Unless the chains have a master link incorporated into it, a special chain tool may be required for removal.

After chains have been removed from a bike, many professionals suggest using solvents which are not water-based, such as kerosene or mineral spirits. As a safety precaution, experts suggest wearing disposable latex gloves during the entire cleaning process. Soak the chain for about a minute, then dump the dirty solvent and refresh with clean solvent. Continue to soak in the fresh solvent for a minute. During the soaking process, the chains should also be scrubbed occasionally to assist with the removal of dirt and debris. Repeat these steps until the solvent no longer becomes dirty. Dispose of the dirty solvent at a hazardous waste disposal site, or filter it through paper and re-use as lighter fluid, or in kerosene lamps.

The second cleaning method does not require removal. Rather, the chain may be left in-place. There are some cleaning units, such as the Chain Master, which have been specifically designed for this task. These devices clean the chains as they are threaded through them. Since these methods spin the rollers and flex the links, they tend to be very effective. To use them, place the bicycle on a work-stand, remove the wheels, and install the device on the rear drop-outs.

Proper lubrication helps to extend longevity and enhance performance. Lubricant reduces friction, increases efficiency, and reduces noise. It is important to ensure the most vulnerable areas of chains are well lubricated. These components include the rivets, outer side-plates, and rollers.

There are various lubricants available to consumers. The most common, convenient type is the spray-on option. Spray-on lubricants frequently contain wax or Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The most common, prominent type of PTFE has the brand-name of Teflon. In addition to its wide-spread use on non-stick cookware, Teflon is an effective lubricant. It reduces the energy consumption, wear, and friction of machinery.

Understanding how to clean and lubricate a chain is an important skill. It is essential for the bicycle hobbyist or competitive athlete. There are numerous commercial cleaning products from which to choose.

Understanding how to clean and lubricate a chain is an important skill. It can be very useful for auto mechanics, bicyclists, farmers, construction workers, motorcyclists, and hobbyists, among others. There are numerous commercial cleaning products from which to choose.
